Position Overview:

Latisha’s House is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and organized Resident Support Specialist to join our team. This role ensures the safety, well-being, and daily support of residents in our Restorative Care Home in Williamsburg, VA. The position provides transportation, oversees the home environment and works directly with adult female survivors of sex trafficking.  Punctuality and dependability are essential, as residents and staff rely on timely support and transportation. A degree is not required but preferred. Relevant experience in caregiving, residential support, or administration is essential.

Reporting Structure:

This position directly reports to the Executive Director, with secondary reporting to the Chief of Staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Resident & Home Support:

  • Oversee daily operations of the home, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
  • Provide transportation for residents to appointments, work, and other necessary locations.
  • Offer guidance and support while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Assist with basic household responsibilities such as maintaining a clean and organized space.
  • Enforce house guidelines while fostering a supportive, trauma-informed atmosphere.
  • Upon starting a shift, consults with the Executive Director to review the house schedule.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure smooth operations and resident success.

Overnight Accommodations

Overnight accommodations include a private suite with full bathroom, minifridge and access to the house’s kitchen. Staff is responsible for providing their own queen size bedding and towels. 

Requirements:

  • Must be punctual and dependable, with the ability to adhere to schedules.
  • Complete mandatory H.E.A.R.T after hire (trauma informed training).
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to work during crises, including overtime, and handle situations professionally.
  • Ability to set healthy boundaries while providing compassionate support.
  • Comfortable working with individuals from diverse backgrounds in a trauma-informed setting.
  • Basic computer skills for administrative tasks (e.g., email, scheduling, record-keeping).
  • Attend mandatory trauma training after hire.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in residential support, caregiving, social services, administration, or a related field preferred.
  • A degree in human services, social work or other related field is preferred but not required. Candidates with relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care is a plus.

Schedule

This position requires overnights and some holidays.
Schedule is 35 hours per week which includes overnights. .
Tuesday: 8am-5pm
Wednesday: 10am-10pm, then overnight, leaving at 8am Thursday
Thursday: 1pm-10pm, then overnight, leaving at 8am Friday
Saturday: 4pm-11pm, then overnight, leaving at 8am Sunday.

Salary

This is an hourly position $14.00-$16.00 per hour based on experience.
